Dose settings
Your doctor or specialist will set your easypod™ so that you get exactly the right dose of Saizen® (growth hormone) every time. You don't need to set the dose each day.
Dose monitoring
easypod™ also has a calendar which can be used to record the doses you have had. This can be found under dose history in the main menu. It has different colours to show the date, the time you injected, how much was injected (a complete or partial injection), when the cartridge was changed and if an injection was missed. This is helpful for you and your doctor.
To get to the above screen select Dose history from the main menu, and then select calendar or dose log using the left hand OK button.
easypod™ automatically records and stores this information, so you don�t need to remember it. Every time you go to your doctor or specialist nurse, remember to take your easypod™ along with you so they have all the records of your treatment.
Minimises dose wastage
easypod™ has three options so Saizen® (growth hormone) is not being wasted. This will have been set by your specialist nurse or doctor so you don't need to worry about it.

Off
If there is less than your full dose in the cartridge easypod™, lets you use the remaining Saizen® in the first cartridge. It will then let you know that you need to top up from a new cartridge with a second injection.

50%
easypod™ delivers the set dose every time until there is less than one dose left. If there is more than half a complete Saizen® dose left, easypod™ injects that amount, and then asks you to replace the cartridge ready for the next injection. If there is less than half a dose left, easypod™ asks you to replace the cartridge and use the new cartridge for a complete dose.

Automatic
easypod™ automatically works out the dose that will make the best use of the cartridge contents while also following the dose prescribed by your doctor.
Therefore over the month you will received the correct total dose however the actual daily amount may not be exactly your prescribed daily dose.
Comfort settings
With easypod™ it is possible to alter how your injection is given so that the settings are comfortable for you. There are four settings that can be adjusted from the 'Comfort settings' menu. Your doctor or specialist nurse can tell you all about these. They will usually be preset in clinic so if you are experiencing any discomfort please talk to your specialist nurse before altering the settings.
Change needle speed
This lets you choose how fast the needle is inserted. You can choose between slow, medium or fast.Change injection speed
This lets you choose how fast the liquid Saizen® is injected. There are three settings like the needle speed: slow, medium or fast.Change injection depth
You can change the depth of the injection; possible settings are 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm.Change injection time
After injecting it is good to leave the needle in for a few seconds so the solution is absorbed before the needle is removed. You can set easypod™ to leave the needle in from between 3 and 30 seconds after the injection.

easypod™ is YOUR device, so you can change other things too so that it looks and sounds the way YOU want.
Change welcome picture
There's a choice of screen displays and you can add your name or leave a short message on the screen from the 'Device settings' menu.Back panel

You can choose another language for your displayed messaged. Go to the 'Device settings & Language' option.Sound
The sound prompts can be switched off, except for the three beep 'Warning' prompt.
